3 slices bacon; chopped
1. In medium skillet, fry bacon until crisp. Drain thoroughly on paper towels. Discard all but 1 teaspoon bacon fat; add onions, gingerroot and garlic to skillet; saute 4 or 5 minutes, until tender.
